Ghost of Tsushima: Legends Confirmed for Fall 2020 Release
Big things are happening for Ghost of Tsushima fans this fall. Sucker Punch Productions and Sony have announced that they will be adding a free-to-play online co-op mode which will be available for those with an active PS Plus membership.

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is a completely new take on the popular PS4 game. Instead of following the main protagonist, Jin Sakai, the new mode will shift it's focus to "four warriors who have been built up as legends in stories told by the people of Tsushima." said Darren Bridges, a designer with Sucker Punch Productions.

The single-player campaign of Ghost of Tsushima focuses on the raw and natural beauty of the feudal Japanese island's open-world. Whereas Legends is a new cooperative multiplayer mode that Bridges says is "haunting and fantastical, with locations and enemies inspired by Japanese folk tales and mythology and an emphasis on cooperative combat and action.”

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will be exclusively a cooperative multiplayer. Play with friends or by using an online matchmaking system which will create groups of 2-4 players. There will be four unique character classes to choose from: Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, or Assassin. Sucker Punch says that more details will be revealed about the character classes soon.

In Legends, players will have a couple of different gameplay options. As a two-player team, players will embark on "Story missions that escalate in difficulty." These missions "build on the foundation of Ghost of Tsushima's gameplay with new magical twists." Alternatively, as a 4-player team, players can complete Survival missions where they will fight waves of enemies, "including new Oni enemies with supernatural abilities." If players are looking for even more of a challenge after completing the Story and Survival missions, there will also be a four-player Raid that will be available after the launch of the new co-op mode. The Raid will take place in an all-new realm with a ruthless and barbaric enemy.
