Geometry Dash is a rhythm-based action platformer. Players assume the world of a geometrical avatar and traverse through incredibly difficult levels. One hit from any of the objects and players are sent back to the beginning of the level. There are several versions of Geometry Dash besides the original including Geometry Dash Meltdown, Geometry Dash World, and Geometry Dash SubZero. Geometry Dash is available on iOS, Windows, and Android devices.
The levels are short and usually range from 1 to 2 minutes in length. The challenge is to make it through each fast-paced level without making a mistake which can take hours. Geometry Dash is not for the faint of heart. Players must take a trial and error approach to memorize the layout of each level in order to win. The design of each level changes along with the music. Geometry tests a player's sense of rhythm as well as hand-to-eye coordination to their limits. The game rewards creative and risky approaches with secret coins. The coins are usually placed outside of the scripted path and players must follow paths that require extreme precision and timing to obtain them. Harder levels such as the demon levels can be unlocked with a certain number of coins.
Each level is intricate in design and the dubstep soundtrack for the levels provides a thrilling and immersive experience. A dramatic shift in level design or difficulty is marked by a bass drop that is signature to dubstep soundtracks. The graphics are simple but implement a sophisticated design for the shapes and the levels themselves. Many of the levels are flashy and explode with colors. The colors constantly change and follow the rhythm of the music. Levels are layered with multiple backgrounds that offer a greater sense of depth. Every aspect of the graphics is extremely well-polished and offers a captivating aesthetic appeal.
Geometry Dash has its appeal amongst casual and hardcore gamers. Each level offers visually stunning graphics that will leave players astonished. Players can purchase the full version of geometry or play the free versions which offer exclusive levels.
Geometry Dash is a unique platformer that offers an infinite combination of colorful designs, customizable levels, and DJ soundtracks to keep players entertained for hours on end.
