Stickman Fighting

In the late '90s, stickman flash animations with elaborate Matrix scenes dominated internet culture. Stickman Fighting is an homage to those early days of the internet.

Stickman Fighting is a fun way to pass the time for a few hours, but there's not much substance there.

Single Player with lots of customization options

Stickman Fighting is a single-player fighting game with plenty of levels to keep you entertained. Create a stickman fighter and outfit him with dozens of weapons. There's tons of customization in the game, from hats to weapons.

Ready, Fight!

At its core, Stickman Fighter is an homage to early '90s stickman animations. Players can deck out their fighter with dozens of weapons, including a plunger, chicken, knuckleduster, selfie stick, and more. The fights take place in a variety of locations, from Dragon Gorge to the Abyss of Space.

The game seems to be a port of a mobile game that should be played by swiping the screen. Using a mouse to move the stickman feels a bit awkward as a result. The levels are intentionally short and are only one screen. Hundreds of fighting stick-men come at you for a minute and a half. If you survive, you move to the next level. If not, you can try again. The game is short, but it is a fun way to pass the time.

Basic Fun

If you've ever watched one of those old stickman fighting animations, you know what you're in for with Stickman Fighting. The characters are literal stick-men who wield weapons and wear hats that look hand-drawn. The background level is always a black and white vector-drawn scene that changes for flavor.

There is only one song in the game, and it gets repetitive pretty fast. You're not playing this game for the sweeping soundtrack and rousing orchestra. It's also worth noting there are no separate controls for sound effects and music. If you don't want the music, you'll lose the game's sound effects, too.

One-Handed Fighting

Stickman Fighting is pretty light on game-play. Players use the mouse to drag their stick fighter across the screen to fight stick-men as they appear. The character's animations are disjointed. Slain enemies burst into red parts that flutter around with unrealistic physics.

The game is fun for the first time you play it, but it quickly loses its charm. Every level feels the same to play because the only change is the background scenery. The last level in the game feels much like the first level, but with a different aesthetic.

Fun for an hour

Stickman Fighting is a fun homage to '90s sticks fighting animations, but there isn't a lot of substance here. It's fun to tool around with for about an hour, and then it quickly loses its luster. All of the weapons feel the same to use since there are no character animations in the game. Stickman Fighting is probably worth a pass unless you like games like Fruit Ninja.

TL/DR

Stickman Fighting seems like an asset flip or a mobile game ported to Steam. The game is fun to play for the first few levels, but it quickly loses its fun factor.
