Poly Bridge

Poly Bridge is an authentic sandbox physics simulator designed for building the craziest bridges you can imagine.

Poly Bridge is one of the best games to come out of Steam's Early Access program.

Play in a physics sandbox

Poly Bridge is an excellent bridge-building game, but where it truly shines is its physics sandbox. Players can go wild bridge-building in the main campaign and then spend hours with other players' creations in sandbox mode.

Be entertained for hours!

As a physics sandbox game, Poly Bridge has enough substance to keep players entertained for hours. The primary campaign features over 100 levels of bridge-building. The Sandbox mode with Steam Workshop support brings hundreds of extra levels into the game.

Low key, not intrusive

Poly Bridge isn't much to look at in the graphics department, but that's not an objectively bad thing. Bridges and environments are all rendered in low-poly environments, taking a background to physics settings.

A blueprint mode makes it easier to build and attach points for creating bridges. You can see stress points and height references to help with your building in this mode.

Finally, the game's soundtrack is composed of subtle folk music that falls into the background. It's not intrusive, which is all you can ask from a game with hundreds of hours of content.

Difficulty ramps up quickly

Poly Bridge is a simplistic game at the start, but the difficulty quickly ramps up. Achieving a high rating often means accomplishing goals under budget. The maximum stress and material cost of your bridges can impact the final score.

A player's first few bridges will be an inefficient mess, which quickly sparks the desire to re-do campaign levels. Your scores at the end of the level showcase where you fall on a global rank with other players, too. That alone gives players an incentive to replay levels they've already beat to increase their rank.

Sandbox mode is where all of those concerns are thrown out the window. You can build whatever you desire without worry about material cost or footprint. Load in other player's contraptions from Steam Workshop to learn how to create elevator bridges and more.

Don't be fooled, hard core physics here!!

Don't let the simplistic presentation of Poly Bridge fool you – there's a hardcore physics simulator here. If you've had fun with games like Kerbal Space Program and Besiege, then Poly Bridge deserves space in your gaming library.

The game's lengthy campaign is full of challenges that quickly ramp up in difficulty. But where it truly shines is Steam Workshop support, allowing players to play and create new levels.

Even if you don't replay any levels, there are enough player-made levels for hundreds of hours of game-play. Poly Bridge gets a 5/5 for replayability. Players can spend hundreds of hours creating their own contraptions to share in sandbox mode with other players.

TL/DR

Poly Bridge is an excellent bridge-building game, but the sandbox physics simulator is where it truly shines. The light-heart-ed soundtrack of folk music is the perfect accompaniment for spending hours engineering in this low-poly world.

From the Developers

What follows is the official description of Poly Bridge, from the developers.

Unleash your engineering creativity with an engaging and fresh bridge-building simulator with all the bells and whistles.

Enjoy hours of physics-based puzzle solving in the Campaign and then jump in the Sandbox to create your own bridge designs and puzzles.

Challenge friends and the rest of the Steam Workshop community to solve your puzzles and download more levels submitted by other players.

Check out the Online Gallery at http://gallery.drycactus.com !

Enjoy hours of bridge-building fun with loads of levels to solve, ranging from simple light car bridges to multi-deck draw-bridges and jumps, just to name a few!

Levels get increasingly challenging from the engineering aspect and restrictions are also imposed on the resources you can use to build your bridge.

What would an awesome bridge-builder game be without an equally awesome Sandbox?

Go wild and create the most complex bridge the world has ever seen, or just an absurd creation that pushes the mechanics of the game in a new direction, and if you're feeling like it publish your design online as a puzzle level on the Workshop for everyone to try and solve!

Download hundreds of extra levels from the Workshop!

We'll also be featuring the most original and fun bridge designs that are submitted, making it easier for you to find the ones that are worth the challenge.

One of our favorite features of the game!

Save a super cool looking animated GIF of your bridge in all its glory (or failure!) and save it locally, upload it to the Poly Bridge Online Gallery and/or share it Twitter, Facebook, Reddit or Tumblr without ever leaving the game!

Unleash your true engineer using the advanced building and level designing tools in-game, such as:

  • Advanced Hydraulics

  • Multi-phase Hydraulics Controller (control which hydraulic piston activates when)

  • Node-base event system

  • Multiple types of checkpoints

  • Copy & Paste tools

  • Line Tracer tools (draw perfect arcs or straight lines and fill them in with your material of choice)

  • And much more...
