1v1 lol - One on One Combat Meets Platform Building

Free-to-Play Browser-Based PvP Game

Introduction: A Tiny Take on Battle Royale

Bringing something unique to the battle royale genre is a tough task in 2020. Games like Fortnite and PuBG dominate the market. However, these games focus on massive numbers in a single match. 1v1 lol is something fresh in the genre. It offers one on one matches in addition to a wild battle royale mode. Practice building skills while avoiding other players in this hectic flash game.

Concept: Simple Building and Fights

1v1 lol takes a lot of its inspiration from other titles. However, 1v1 adds some extra features. There are options for practicing building alone, as well as one versus one matches. Classic battle royale mode with 12-player free-for-all is also available. 1v1 lol is a game focused on helping casual players learn skills while featuring lesser-known video game streamers.

The game puts a lot of effort into being accessible. This concept is charming but a little simplistic.

Graphics and Audio: Nothing Special To See

There's no background music or sound in this browser game. Occasional gunshots ring out as players take shots at one another, and there is a chunky building sound whenever platforms get laid down.

Unfortunately, all of this makes for a dull audio experience. Additionally, with no built-in voice chat, the game struggles when compared with other free-to-play building battle royale games.

The graphics in 1v1 lol are also basic. There is a single map that is nothing but a wide sprawl of grassy green. Players build from scratch every round using primary colored platforms like yellow, blue, or red. These can be exploited during play, though, which leads to a lot of unfair deaths and "glitch" rounds.

All in all, 1v1 lol needs a good graphical tune-up to remove match-breaking glitches.

Gameplay: Straight Forward Lobby Makes Quick Matches

While 1v1 lol struggles with graphics and audio, it makes up for them with its accessibility.

Immediately hopping on the game in-browser brings players to the lobby. Pick from several different match modes: one on one casual, one on one ranked, and classic battle royale.

Additionally, there's a "just build. lol" mode for practicing quick building. Learn how to make the tallest structures, or simply work on using platforms in smart ways. This particularly unique mode opens 1v1 lol up for having plenty of uses. Even hardcore Fortnite players may find use in practicing their building craft here.

Aside from that, the gameplay is average. Rounds are quick since there is no customization of weapons or armor. Hop in, go head-to-head with one or many players, and hope to come out on top.

Conclusion

1v1 lol is a game that does too little. It offers up okay gameplay, but the graphics and a lack of any audio leave it struggling. The neatest aspects are its "justbuild.lol" mode, as well as its effort to feature lesser-known video game streamers. The bottom right corner offers links to the top 3 currently streaming 1v1.lol, a clever attempt to get both the game and these players some extra recognition.

Anyone looking for a way to kill time with a casual PvP shooter game in-browser should give it a try, but don't expect it to become the next eSports contender anytime soon.

TL/DR

1v1 lol is a free-to-play online game that combines the third-person shooter and building simulator genres
